About Magrisso Forte
Magrisso Forte is a New Haven based consulting company that is dedicated to creating awareness of the city's cultural resources through economic development and historic documentation. Historic preservation is the best tool for creating a vital city center while enriching neighborhood identity.
Vintage photographs speak a thousand words to help define how much or how little has changed in our environment. Photographs are a reference point that help us address present and future planning decisions and our current physical conditions. By using the past as a resource we help bridge the gaps in development projects and give communities a singularly authentic identity.
Magrisso Forte was founded in July 2006 by Colin M. Caplan, who previously worked in both the architectural and historic preservation fields. Colin graduated in 2002 with a Masters in Architecture from Tulane University in New Orleans, LA. He is active with local design, preservation and community organizations. In June, 2006 Colin published the book, New Haven (Then & Now). The book reveals urban change in New Haven over the last 80 years. His latest book, A Guide to Historic New Haven, Connecticut, a group of 27 walking, biking and driving tours was published in November 2007.
